About Us

Community Aid was founded in 1985 by Reverend Young of the Waynesville Methodist Church to fill a need in the community.  In the late 80's the food pantry was started out of The Village Kitchen by John Lamm, coordinating efforts with Don Ellis of Ellis Supermarket.  Donna and Mike Morley took over The Village Restaurant and continued to run the food pantry out of the restaurant for around 20 years.

The Waynesville Food Pantry and Wayne Township Community Aid is currently operating out of St. Mary's Episcopal Church.

The Food Pantry provides basic non-perishable food items, as well as some paper, personal, and household products.  Community Aid funds help with utility bills.  We serve residents in Waynesville, Wayne Township, Corwin, Harveysburg, Lytle, and Oregonia.  Please call the number below if you need help with food or utility bills.

How to Donate

The Waynesville Food Pantry and Wayne Township Community Aid thanks Groceryland/Hometown Super Market for their generosity in starting the 'round up' program that generates funds for the food pantry.  Waynesville schools also have a food drive near Thanksgiving that provides much of our necessary non-perishable food items.

The Food Pantry accepts donations of non-expired and non-perishable food items, especially peanut butter, jelly, canned meat/tuna, mac & cheese, cereal, granola bars, etc. from the community and will also welcome monetary donations to help support our efforts on behalf of our community (no clothing or furniture donations).  Donations can be dropped off at St. Mary's during our normal hours of operation, at Mary L. Cook library when open and 24/7 in the lobby of the Wayne Township Fire Station.
